Lincoln News building destroyed by fireLINCOLN — The building that housed the Lincoln News, the paper in the Penobscot County community, has been destroyed by fire. WCSH-television says the fire began around 6:30 p.m. Thursday and that by the time Lincoln firefighters arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames. The building is considered a total loss, but some business records and computers may have survived. Lincoln Fire Chief Phillip Dawson says his crew faced a water shortage when they first arrived on scene. Investigators from the state fire marshal's office will be on scene Friday to try to determine what caused the fire. No injuries were reported. Bookmark/Search this post with:
